Rich chocolate cake
Here’s another chocolate recipe that I tried making yesterday. It turns out really good..
Makes a 7 inch cake. The ingredients -
130 gm dark chocolate 100 gm salted butter 100 gm brown sugar, divided into half. 3 large eggs, separated into yolk and white. 2 teaspoon vanilla extract 130 gm self-raising flour 1 tablespoon cocoa powder 1/2 teaspoon bicarbonate of soda 70 ml full cream milk (slightly more than 1/4 cup)First double-boil the chocolate to melt it. Let it cool. Mix the flour, cocoa powder and soda, sift. In the mixer, beat the butter and 50gm of brown sugar for about 5 minutes. Then add the egg yolk one by one. Followed by the melted chocolate and vanilla. After all is well incorporated, add in the flour mixture alternating with the milk.
Lastly, beat the egg whites till you get medium peaks, gradually adding the 50gm of sugar. Fold into the batter slowly.
Bake bain-marie for about 40 to 45 minutes at 180C.
Serve with chocolate ganache. Enjoy !
