Red Roses Cake
OMG, I think I over did it with the petals. Probably the cake would look better without the scattered petals.. me trying to be a little romantic
. Well, I keep arranging the petals, trying to make it look ‘natural’. And all my hubby could do was give me that ‘why even bother’ look
. I thought of removing the petals, but I don’t think hubby cum cameraman would want to snap any more photos. So we’ll have to live with this memory.
Anyway, I’m proud to say that I made the roses.. Yup ! Took me the whole afternoon making the leaf and roses.
I use that plastic butter knife to cut the leaf, to get that jagged effect (thanks Pol ! ). Here’s a close up :
For the petal, I run my bone tool along the edges, on a foam.

To make the button, I just use the end of a big piping tip. Press into a small ball of gumpaste.
I think the cake looks a bit too simple. Actually I’ve run out of ideas on how to further glamorize it. Making the flowers had sucked out all the creativity in me, for today. I think I’ll have to call it a day. Nite-nite.
