Baking Project

The wedding season is here ! This is a good time for all wedding planners, cake decorators, caterers etc. Hopefully this two months will bring good business to all of us. Anyway, here’s another kek hantaran (wedding cake) that I made, for a girl named Shaz. Terima kasih :).

This is a gift for a wedding couple who lives in Ipoh. Hope they like it.

Some updates - I’ve added a poll on the right side bar regarding having my classes in some major towns. If the response is good, I will try to work out something. Currently I am finalizing the details of having a class in Johor Bahru, at C Siang Marketing bakery supplies shops. The class will be held in Dec, 08 Insyaallah. Will keep you posted on this.

My PME Diploma in Sugarpaste course is scheduled next week Tuesday, and I am so excited . Having a diploma in this field that I love really meant a lot for me. Hopefully I’ll be learning more new things. Wish me luck !

A hantaran cake for Hani who is getting engaged tomorrow in Banting.. Congrats ! Thank you Shina & Hani for the order.

This is a 12 inch butter cake, quite heavy after all the fondant covering and the 14 inch cake board. Took me a few hours to decorate, right after I finish teaching at about 5 pm today. I made the gumpaste flowers a few days ago, when I was quite free.

I’m so looking forward for a good rest tomorrow. Have a good weekend all .

I guess by now all Malaysians are back at home and work.. Raya is a one month celebration, but normally the ‘open house’ would be held on weekends. Its tough going back to work after the one week break (for me, not really, since I’m working from home ). Anyway, nothing much has been going on in my life. Just the usual cake decorating thingy. I’m preparing a few cakes this week to be put on display at my little sis’s new shop in Damansara Damai. Only managed to complete one yesterday.

The flowers are carnations, from Cake Connection. They are basically pink and white, I coloured the edges with some pearl and petal dust to add some contrast. I think the carnations would look good on cuppies too. The cake is also suitable for hantaran.
