Baking Project

Raya is just round the corner.. I would like to take this opportunity to wish all my Muslim (and non-Muslim) readers, students and friends a very happy and blessed Eidulfitr. Selamat Hari Raya Aidifitri. My apologies for any mistakes on my part, be it during our course of everyday interaction or during classes.. maaf zahir dan batin. Let’s take a break during this short holiday to enjoy the company of our family and friends, while we still can.

Somehow Raya always reminds me of this poem by our great Usman Awang – in the morning, we usually visit our grandparents’ graves to say our prayers. My mom is still here with us, alhamdulillah panjang umur , she had survived breast cancer a few years back.

KE MAKAM BONDA

Kami mengunjungi pusara bonda
Sunyi pagi disinari suria
Wangi berseri puspa kemboja
Menyambut kami mewakili bonda

Tegak kami di makam sepi
Lalang-lalang tinggi berdiri
Dua nisan terkapar mati
Hanya papan dimakan bumi

Dalam kenangan kami melihat
Mesra kasih bonda menatap
Sedang lena dalam rahap

Bibir bonda bersih lesu

Yey ! I was lucky to be featured in the Good Living magazine (June/ July 09 issue), together with 2 other girls. Thank you very much to the writer, Syama Ramasamy and everyone at the studio. It was a story about working from home.

And here’s me.. ( I know I should be on diet ! Thank God for the lighting.. )
