Cakes Day at TV3

Thanks to Linda from Bakingproject Yahoo group who informed us on this event. I was not really prepared to enter the competition, but went ahead to make a simple cake, just for the fun of it. The theme was TV3 25th anniversary, and I registered under the ‘bawa & pamer kek’ (decorating at home and then just bring over for the exhibition).

The TV cake I did :

Actually no idea la, what to make to represent the slogan “my life inspiration”.. in the end, the simplest would be a rainbow with flowers. Well, tough competition, I was contestant no. 74 and overall I think there were about 100 plus entries. Some were just plain looking cakes, a few, excellent. I manage to get a consolation price of RM100 (sob..sob!) with a few others, under ‘beautiful cakes’ category. The first price was RM800, second RM500 and third price, RM300. It was very crowded and hot.. we left Sri Pentas at about 1.30pm..very exhausting day. But it was fun, in the end all the cakes were auctioned off, and contribution goes to Tabung Bersamamu. I’m not sure who bought my cake, hopefully it has fetched a good price. Thank you, TV3.

thanks all.. jadi la dpt RM100 tu, buat modal cover balik cost cake tu.

Ayu, sebenarnye akak rasa yg 2nd kek tu patut dpt first. Lagipun depa byk guna edible image, which akak rasa mcm tak aci laa.. edible image tu tak memerlukan byk keje sgt. Apa pun, contest ni yg jadi judge nye pun bukannye pro in cake deco, saja suka-suka. Akak pun mencari jugak kalau ada member, tapi ramai sgt org. Anyway, hope we bump into each other di lain masa.
