Cakes by students 27/6
Yesterday we tried to make a different looking cake.. with two tones. And with the swags (of course !). The finished cake :
What do you think ? Amazing, isn’t it ? I hope the students (Azrina and Zaleha) are happy.
Here’s how we did it. First, cover the whole cake with the pink fondant. Then the tricky part is to put on the top white layer. It has to be larger than the cake’s top and also scalloped at the edges.
The cake was 7″ in diameter. So we cut out a round shape of about 11″ and then make the scallop pattern using a round cutter. Paste the white fondant on top. Cut a few strips and stick to the sides. Then add the swags and roses.
Lastly, arrange the round pearls for the cake edges and pearl dust to make it shine.. The girls started at 10.30 am and finished at about 4.30 pm. So you can imagine the hard work to produce this cake. Congratulations to both girls ye !

hi,
Found out your blog from ShabbyMom and Fabmom. I really enjoy your the pics in your blog. Not really a baker myself, but I have quite a few frens who are into cake decorating too. If you dont mind, i’d like to put up a post on my blog about your blog, coz I think it might be informative for my frens. Also, can I grab a few pics from your blog as a teaser?
Intan & Kak Tun, tq la singgah sini.. insyaallah kalau buat open house, mesti jemput semua kawan kat sini.
Kuireena, thanks dik.. yes go ahead with the pic, as long as you link back to this site. Some of the cakes are done by my students, not me. Thanks ye, and kiss kiss to Qif
Hi Min, the design is lovely, very dainty. ICCA PJ should give you a special member, priviledge card or something for buying and promoting their stuff.
