I wish it would STOP snowing in Trondheim… ;-) We got far too much now. But anyhoo, great figures here, and many fantastic tips and ideas! I think your classes are a bit too far away for me, but even so, I have learned a great deal already from here. Thank you =)

Min says:

Hi Marie, you could use water to stick the deco. Or soften fondant, or royal icing for heavier pieces. Good luck dik !

Marie says:

Hi Kak Min, I’m new to sugarpaste modelling and hoping to do my first few today, how do you stick the pieces together? Thanks, M

Sue says:

Hi Kak Min, I’m very interested in learning to deco using fondant. Very much appreciated if u can share wif me how. I love looking at all your deco. Hope to email me ya? Thanks a bunch!

Min says:

Orchid, sugar paste is edible. Only gum paste, the one which we make flowers are not palatable, because it is hard.

Orchid says:

Those sugar paste models look soo good. But it cannot be eaten right? Just for deco?

Min says:

Zai, I only hv one type of black. Probably mix with white fondant sikit kut. Tak ingat dah. Tapi memang ada black colour itself. thanks 2u too singgah sini.

zaitgha says:

hi Min,

love the bees, u used black coloring or a combination of colors to get black?
you are actually teaching me to do all these he he ….free lagi…thanks

Min says:

Zara, I’m just kidding, there’s no snow here..wish there is ! That would be a miracle. Your bug cakes are just so adorable..I don’t have any special cake pan. Maybe I should start collecting from now.
Anyway, Zara thanks for dropping by.

Zara Miravent says:

Hi Min!

Your cow and beehive look great! The cow is really lovely! And the snowman – does it ever snow there? Have a nice week!

Min says:

Hi Christine, how r u? Actually some of the designs I got from books and the many cupcakes designs in Flickr. Yes it is tedious doing it coz they are all so tiny. Ok, I’ve subscribe to your RSS feed and look fwd to seeing those pictures ! thanks.

Wow, nice work! I’m collecting ideas for my final cake for Wilton Fondant & Gum Paste class. You are so creative! I made little mums last night, OMG, took me 2 hrs to make 40 of them,.. so tedious, but pretty :P I’ll post the pic when it’s assembled.

anna says:

gheee thank you min =D i suka sgt tengok ur works on fondant @ gumpaste. nnt la ada masa i try buat. my cuppies normally just use buttercream but for wedding @ engagement baru pakai fondant. at 1st, i learn thru books, net, trial & error. then lepas tu baru i attend lynn hassan’s class utk belajar few basic techs.

Min says:

Anna, terima kasih singgah.. byk nya Anna buat kek tengok kat blog Anna, comel semuanya. Cupcakes tu pakai buttercream ke or lapik ngan fondant, nampak smooth je. Anna belajar kat mana ?

Min says:

Hi Yozora, thank you. I’m still learning myself, don’t think I am capable of giving classes now, see how la in the future. Actually fondant and sugarpaste basically is the same thing. Gum paste is different, it is more pliable and dries harder , use to make flowers. Once dry, you can keep it forever. Technically can be eaten but not palatable since its too hard.
You can also make flowers from fondant, like the ones I did above, these are edible of course, but the whole thing is made from icing sugar, so I normally just skin off the toppings.
You can buy ready made gum paste mix and ready made rolled fondant, then you will know the difference.
Thanx again.

anna says:

i laugh masa tgk phot yg u tgh poke nostril cik lembu tu. sian dia…but heyyyy.. semua lawa sangat =D!!! i pulak yg teruja tengok

oh min.. i am so in love with your snowman and your cow and your bees. are you giving classes? one word only i can think of for your creations.. BEAUTIFUL!!!. Actually, what is the difference between fondant, sugar paste, gumpaste? Are the all the same thing actually?

Min says:

thanks Intan,.. sedapnye cendawan goreng Intan. Tengah lapar ni..

intan says:
